This luxury Penthouse in Chalet Aberot is considered one of the best apartments in Wengen with stunning views of the Lauterbrunnen valley, famous Jungfrau peak and surrounding mountains. The chalet was built in 2013 in a traditional style to a very high standard and is located on a south facing ledge just below the village and a 350-meter walk from the train station, village mainstreet and ski slopes. The village is car free and only accessible by train from Lauterbrunnen.
The apartment with open concept living, 2 double bedrooms, a 3rd gallery bedroom and 2 shower rooms comfortably accommodates up to 6 people. The master bedroom with access to the west-facing balcony is lavish and features classic style windows, a 200x200 cm double bed and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower and WC. The second bedroom offers 2 single beds and the open gallery bedroom has a queensize double (160x200cm). There is a second bathroom with walk-in shower and WC. The upper gallery space is accessed via a pull down wooden stairway.
Floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors, traditional wooden beams and high-quality furnishings make this Alpine holiday retreat impressive. Two classical style sofas are central to the living space and the dining space with large glass table and designer chairs is nearest the west facing balcony and is great for entertaining or family meals.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering including oven, ceramic hob, fridge, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, steamer, kettle, toaster and the all-important fondue set.
This apartment in Wengen also has a washing machine and tumble dryer in the in the basement room for the private use of guests and a small shared lock up room for skis, snowboards and sledges.

A few minor points. The main bedroom needs more hooks or pegs on the walls for hanging clothing. It would be good to have updated connections to plug in iPhones, etc.

The shopping was delivered prior to our arrival which made the first evening easy and relaxing. all the information given to us was clear and Rachel was very helpful replying promptly to any query we had and available to help in whatever way was needed.
Chalet Aberot is on a hill but the Central Sport boot / ski locker was a great help so we did not need to take our skis back every day. We look forward to a return to Wengen! |

This property is just the way it looks on the pictures - beautiful, cozy and sparkling clean inside with all the amenities you would wish for, and a very well equipped kitchen, and an unparalleled view to the Jungfrau and over the Lauterbrunnen valley - probably the best you can get in Wengen. The apartment is quite centrally located in Wengen - about 5 minute walk from the train station and all the shops (which in Wengen is a great plus!), and again - with the view from both balconies, who needs to go for excursions? The Jungfrau train passes 4 times an hour right next to the house, which did not disturb us, but which adds a touch of noise. Still, we highly recommend this property for a most beautiful holiday. And Rachel was a pleasure to deal with, totally responsive and helpful before and during our stay - we had a parcel with equipment delivered, and she put it in our apartment before we came, and when a lamp stopped working she immediately arranged for an electrician to tend to it.

We had an amazing 6 days stay at wengen with a chance to be at this chalet in the perfect morning view we could wake up to everyday. The alps were literally infront by the windows and the setting with the train and scenic view was totally on point. Gsee more

The chalet was big enough for a group of 5 of us and it felt really cosy under one roof. Only tough thing was the slope up and down to the chalet, it was at a deep end and we were really drained out dragging our luggages to and fro. But it’s a great work out despite all. Switzerland is beautiful, TQ!

The views from the 2 balconies are incredible. One thing to note: the hill from the apartment to the town is a steep one - I saw this on the reviews prior to going but I didn't realize how steep until I arrived. It's not an issue but it is good to nosee more

The wengenbahn train treads along adding to the romance of the place. The sun and the clouds continuously paint the landscape in amazing hues. The apartment is extremely clean, well-ventilated, very spacious and comfortable. Loved the loft above. The choicest kitchen equipment and cutlery is available in here. Its by far the best I've stayed in till date. The office is just across the road from the train station, next to Coop. The check-in is efficient. You get some fantastic tips on what you can do in the entire Jungfrau region. Wengen is a no car, peaceful town. A really small main street - 100 mts long, with excellent shops focussed on outdoor activities. Lots of hotels / apartments and a few good eating options. Superb connectivity to roam the entire Jungfrau region - all the way from Interlaken to Jungfrau and Wilderswil, Mannlichen, Lauterbrennen, Kliene Schedegg in between. Don't forget a Jungfrau pass / Swiss rail pass to traverse the region.

The location and views are absolutely fantastic and stunning from both terraces. Communication and check-in process were easy with the lockbox. We had slippers waiting for us when we arrived which was nice. The whole apartment is shoeless. The chaletsee more
The location and views are absolutely fantastic and stunning from both terraces. Communication and check-in process were easy with the lockbox. We had slippers waiting for us when we arrived which was nice. The whole apartment is shoeless. The chalet was exceptionally clean when we arrived and was very well equipped in the kitchen and elsewhere. The location is unbeatable, just up the hill from Wengen with stunning views of the mountains. There are hiking/cycling routes accessible on foot from the house only a few minutes to city centres of Wengen and the train station. However, the proximity to train rails makes it hard to ignore the sound during the night and early morning. If you need silence and blackout to sleep is important to consider this aspect. We loved our stay in Wengen and Rachel was always helpful and kind.
